| Paluma is a great retreat from the city and everyday
life. There is a quite relaxed atmosphere and you are absolutely
surrounded by nature, with beautiful rainforest, crystal clear mountain
streams and abundant wildlife. While in Paluma you can choose to
relax and unwind or you can experince nature and learn about it
with many activities on offer.
Bushwalks
Short walks - Paluma Rainforest walk (580metres)
- Birthday Creek Falls track (30 minutes)
- McLellands Lookout- 100metres from “Paluma Dreaming”
with views to Halifax Bay and Palm Island Group.
Longer Walks - “Witts Lookout” track – 1.5klms-
allow 45 minutes and commences at the end of Loop Road. A public
carpark is also located in Loop road.
- “Cloudy Creek” track – 3klms- Most strenuous
track as much steeper and longer than others. Allow 2 hours to complete.
- The “H” track- 1.3 klms- This is a circuit from the
end of Lennox Cres and joining Whalley crescent. This track runs
along the alignment of a former logging road.
Lake Paluma- camping, swimming and canoeing (no mechanized water
sports)

l clear mountain streams and abundant wildlife. While in Paluma
you can choose to relax and unwind
Swimming
Beautiful rainforest streams with crystal clear water running over
magnificant boulders. Be careful as the rocks can be very slippery,
there can be strong currents and the water can be very cold! Look
out for the native fish life as well.

We encourage families to visit and stay to enjoy the feeling of
the wonder of Paluma that is simply not available in the lower regions
of the north. The mist as it comes flowing through and settles at
various times daily , the rainforest walks, the wildlife including
the Cassowary and Eastern Water Dragons, the birdlife and smaller
reptiles and animals that present themselves at various times of
night and day is a treat for everyone, especially the younger ones.
